Logan Chambers, the senior director of marketing for Quaker at PepsiCo Foods Canada, acknowledges the ongoing debate surrounding the birthplace of hockey, with Déli?ne, N.W.T. being a prominent contender. He commends the community for its efforts to formalize its historical claim while recognizing that other locations, such as Windsor, N.S.; Kingston, Ont.; and Montreal, also assert their origins in the sport.

Recently, Déli?ne gained national attention through a Quaker Oats commercial showcasing the community's love for hockey and oatmeal. Leonard Kenny, a member of the Déli?ne K'aow?dó Ke council, expressed pride in the recognition, noting the deep cultural significance of oatmeal in Indigenous cuisine, which even surprised Quaker representatives.

As part of the Quaker Breakfast Bar initiative, the company has invested in the community by renovating the local arena, enhancing its kitchen facilities, and stocking it with Quaker products. Chambers emphasized the importance of arenas as community hubs, particularly for youth engagement. The recent upgrades to Déli?ne's rink, which transitioned from gravel to concrete, not only improve the ice surface but also allow for year-round activities, reinforcing the rink's role as a vital community resource.
