Canada Winter Games camp information
Hockey NWT (HNWT) will be hosting their Canada Winter Games - Spring Identification Camp. The ID camp will be held from Wednesday, April 27 - Sunday, May 1. The final schedule along with other camp resources will be shared with camp participants once registration closes. The Spring Identification Camp is open to all male athletes born from 2006-2011 inclusive and all female athletes born from 2004-2011 inclusive.
The objective of each spring camp (male and female) is to identify and invite potential athletes for the male & female Canada Winter Games teams to attend a Summer Evaluation Camp during the week of August 15-21 (exact dates TBC). *The male camp(s) will be full contact.
Please note - As there is more certainty around Covid, HNWT is in the process of reviewing the standard selection process. It is the Associations position that the Canada Winter Games is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that the good of the team must be the priority and it is expected that athletes will have to make sacrifices to be part of Team NT Hockey. HNWT will work to accommodate exceptional circumstances. Please forward any considerations to HNWT as soon as possible. The revised selection process will be circulated at the conclusion of camp registration.
Team NT Overview - Final Roster Team composition:
Male Team
- 20 male athletes
- Competitors under 16 years of age as of December 31, 2022
- Year of birth: 2007 to 2011 inclusive
- Teams from NT, NU and YT are eligible to select up to three (3) players under 17 years of age as of December 31, 2022 (born in 2006) as per the Small Jurisdiction Strategy
Female Team
- 20 female athletes
- Competitors under 18 years of age as of December 31, 2022
- Year of birth: 2005 to 2011 inclusive
- Teams from NT, NU, and YT are eligible to select up to three (3) players under 19 years of age as of December 31, 2022 (born in 2004) as per the Small Jurisdiction Strategy
