Yellowknife Rec Hockey Easter Tournament Brings the North Together

Mar. 29, 2026

The 2026 Yellowknife Rec Hockey Easter Tournament is set to bring communities together for an exciting weekend of hockey, connection, and celebration.

With teams traveling from across the Northwest Territories, the tournament features multiple divisions and a full schedule of games hosted at the Yellowknife Community Arena and Multiplex facilities. From Yellowknife to Hay River, Fort Simpson to Cambridge Bay, and beyond, this event highlights the strength and spirit of hockey across the North.

The tournament kicks off with a special Memorial Game between RCMP and Yellowknife Firefighters, setting the tone for a weekend that goes beyond competition. It is about community, respect, and coming together through sport.

Over the course of the weekend, teams will compete through round robin play, leading into semi-finals and championship games across all divisions. The energy builds each day, culminating in the A Division Final on Sunday evening.

More than just games, this tournament is about connection. It is about teammates, friendships, and the shared love of hockey. It is about communities showing up, supporting each other, and creating memories that last well beyond the final whistle.

A huge thank you goes out to all volunteers, organizers, officials, and partners who make this event possible. Your dedication and passion are what bring this tournament to life.

We look forward to an incredible weekend of hockey.
