Hockey North Announces Coaching Staff for 2026 Arctic Winter Games

Hockey North is proud to announce the coaching teams for the upcoming 2026 Arctic Winter Games. These coaches bring experience, dedication, and a strong commitment to supporting youth across the Northwest Territories and the Beaufort Delta. Each has accepted their position and is ready to help lead Team NT athletes on their journey to the Games.

U15 Male Coaching Staff

• Assistant Coach: Ashley Rivers (Yellowknife)

U18 Male Coaching Staff

• Head Coach: Chris Opheim (Norman Wells)

• Assistant Coach: Jeff Bowden (Yellowknife)

• Assistant Coach: Curtis Gruben (Fort McPherson)

U19 Female Coaching Staff

• Head Coach: Ryan Nichols (Yellowknife)

• Assistant Coach: Abby Webster (Yellowknife)

• Assistant Coach: Kaylee Grant (Yellowknife)

These coaches represent communities across the territory and bring a wide range of skills to support athletes in their preparation for the Games. Hockey North is excited to have such strong leadership guiding our teams.
