Hockey NWT Prepares for 2027 Canada Winter Games in Québec City

Jun. 01, 2025

The countdown is on! The Canada Games Council has officially announced that the 2027 Canada Winter Games will return to Québec City — the birthplace of the Games — from February 27 to March 14, 2027. This marks a full-circle moment for Canadian sport, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first-ever Canada Games held in Québec in 1967.

This will be the fourth time Québec hosts the Canada Games, having previously welcomed athletes in Sherbrooke 2013 (Summer), Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean 1983 (Winter), and the inaugural edition in 1967.

A Big Stage for Hockey in 2027

For Hockey NWT, the 2027 Games represent more than just another tournament — they’re a unique opportunity to showcase the grit, growth, and talent of northern athletes on a national stage. From local rinks to inter-territorial showdowns, every step in our journey builds towards Québec.
